Carole Robert, MBA, Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who’s Who for Excellence in Pharmaceuticals
With her background in nursing, Carole Robert formed two nonprofit organizations that focus on biotechnology and pharmaceuticals
MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA, September 6, 2013, Carole Robert, CEO of PharmAfrican and President of the Biotechnology for Sustainable Development in Africa (BDA) Foundation was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Who’s Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.
PharmAfrican and the BDA Foundation work in tandem to develop a sustainable development platform, “a business ecosystem” producing and commercializing worldwide innovative ingredients made from African botanicals. The organizations have numerous important institutional partners worldwide, including United Nations Agencies, International Universities, civil society organizations and Ministries.
On a daily basis, Ms. Robert communicates with her African team, leads two Boards of Directors, develops strategic partnerships, supervises scientific research and oversees the implementation of BDA’s Plant Action program in Africa.
Ms. Robert has fifteen years of experience in international trade and business. And since 2006, when she founded PharmAfrican and the BDA Foundation, she has developed a sharp knowledge of the botanicals sector and its related nutraceutical, cosmetic and biopharmaceutical industries. Her expertise also includes sustainable development, social investment and pharmaceutical research.
Having a passion for what she does, Ms. Robert attributes her success to having a vision and being able to attract good people to her project and remaining persistent in her efforts. Her dream is to prove that profitable businesses can also be socially and environmentally responsible. She is driven by a powerful entrepreneurial spirit, never backing off when confronted by obstacles. Her work has garnered many honors such as the Terre des Femmes Award from Yves Rocher for her involvement in the protection of the environment.
Ms. Robert received a Master of Business Administration from Université de Montreal’s Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) School of Business. During her time off, she enjoys reading, painting, cooking, swimming and spending time with family. In the years to come, Ms. Robert plans to expand her nonprofit organizations so they reach out to many more African countries.
