WARRENDALE, PA, July 31, 2015, Barend G. Snyman, Vice President: Product Management and Service for Underground Mining at Joy Global has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in executive management.

Mr. Snyman has 15 years of professional experience, with two years as a vice president of product management and services for underground mining for Joy Global. Throughout his career, he has set himself apart through his skills in numerous fields, including operations management, product management, team building, leadership, strategic planning, communication, revenue generation, client services, new business growth, and marketing research and analysis.

Each day, Mr. Snyman is responsible for the corporate leadership of the global product management and service teams, while working to define the company’s strategy. He also works to oversee implementation and delivery, and manages new products and service development. He is distinguished in decision making, judgment, taking initiative, innovation, planning and time management.

Mr. Snyman has many years of experience as an electronic and electrical engineer. He has a background in electric power generation and substation design, as well as in automation engineering. He has worked in various positions at Joy Global, including in engineering functions for product design and applications engineering for underground products.

When it comes to product development, Mr. Snyman is able to build a vision and execute from concept to solution. He received a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Pretoria. In addition to his degree, he is a Certified Professional Engineer through the Engineering Council of South Africa (ID #20000232). He maintains affiliation with the Engineering Counsel of South Africa and IEEE. In years to come, Mr. Snyman hopes to grow the business and become its president.
