Christopher Constant Inducted into Worldwide Who’s Who for Excellence in Surgery and Surgical Training
Mr. Constant realized his childhood dream of becoming a surgeon and now teaches others
CAMBRIDGE, ENGLAND, September 18, 2013, Christopher Constant, HTA Designated Individual and Director of Quality Management and Governance for the Cambridge Surgical Training and Research Centre, has been recognized by Worldwide Who’s Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in surgery, surgical training, medical education and clinical research.
Mr. Constant has many years of medical and surgical experience, having recently become a director of quality management and governance for the Cambridge Surgical Training and Research Centre. In the course of his duties, he is responsible for providing surgical training and ensuring that those undertaking training and research do so in compliance with Human Tissue Authority’s regulations and the Human Tissues Act (2004). He attributes his success to listening to his parents’ advice and never giving up. He became involved in his profession because he wanted to be a surgeon since he was 6 years old.
Prior to joining the Cambridge Surgical Training Centre, Mr. Constant worked in the NHS for nearly 30 years, and was a consultant specialist during that time. Mr. Constant is an orthopedic and trauma surgeon and an internationally renowned specialist in shoulder and elbow surgery.
Mr. Constant received a Master of Arts for teaching and medical education from the University of Cambridge in 2000, a Master of Surgery from University College Cork in Ireland in 1986, and a Master Degree in medical law from Cardiff Law School of the University of Wales in 1994. He is a founding member of BESS and a retired member of ESSSE and the British Orthopaedic Association. In 1979, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, and he is a two-time recipient of a coin for excellence, presented by the U.S. Air Force. In years to come, Mr. Constant intends to continue working and spending time with his grandchildren, as well as doing charity work.
