Eleanor Gates-Stuart Honored as an Expert in Fine Arts

ROYALLA, NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, July 24, 2014, Eleanor Gates-Stuart, Professional Artist and owner of Eleanor Gates-Stuart, her self-titled company, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in fine arts.

Ms. Gates-Stuart has 20 years of experience as a professional artist and company owner of Eleanor Gates-Stuart. Over the years, she has become an expert in interdisciplinary arts, as well as design, fine arts, and media arts. In addition to completing her Ph.D., she is responsible for completing design work and research for CSIRO, in addition to performing keynote speaking, working on collaborations, and publishing and presenting papers at conferences in the United Kingdom, USA, Taiwan and Australia.

Ms. Gates-Stuart has been doing research with national science organizations for the past five years, more recently with CSIRO working on major government commissions and looking at how art can illuminate science. She explores how to use art to attract interest to science. She also works with museums, universities and collections.

Looking back, Ms. Gates-Stuart attributes her success to her belief in herself, as well as her passion for continuous learning, and her good fortune at having a great mentor. She stands out from her peers due to her proven success and quality of work, especially over across a span of diverse and interdisciplinary projects. She became involved in her profession because she always loved to draw.

Ms. Gates-Stuart received is pursuing a Ph.D. in science communication from The Australian National University, having received a diploma in training and assessment from Blended Learning International in 2009, a Master of Arts in fine art print and print making from Chelsea College of Arts in 1982, and a Bachelor of Arts in fine art from Sheffield Hallam University, where she graduated with honors in 1980. In addition to her degrees, she has received numerous certifications, such as a certificate II in screen and media, a certificate IV in small business management, and a certificate IV in training and assessment.

Ms. Gates-Stuart maintains affiliation with the National Association for the Visual Arts, the Print Council of Australia, Australian Science Communicators, IEEE, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), the Australian Network for Art and Technology, ARTzGATE, gatescherrywolmark, the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science, NICTA, and the Australian Capital Territory Training and Assessment Praxis. In 2013, she received the prestigious Canberra Critics Circle Award from the ACT Government through its Centenary of Canberra Science Art Commission. In years to come, Ms. Gates-Stuart would love to extend her arts and design practice, collaborate with different people, have more exhibitions, and do more talks in the U.S.
