Joan D. Zaretsky, Ph.D. specializes in special education inclusion, and provides top notch levels of educational consulting services

WINNIPEG, MB, CANADA, November 26, 2014, Joan D. Zaretsky, Ph.D., Consultant for Education Solutions Manitoba, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education consulting.

Dr. Zaretsky, a recipient of the prestigious Thomas B. Greenfield Award for the best written dissertation in educational administration in Canada in 2010, as granted by the Canadian Association for the Study of Educational Administration, was recently inducted into the Top Female Executives of Worldwide Branding for her exemplary efforts in education consulting. With more than 20 years of professional experience under her belt, Dr. Zaretsky shines as a luminary in her field. She specializes in special education inclusion, and provides top notch levels of educational consulting services.

Throughout her career, Dr. Zaretsky has found that one of the best ways to address the changing needs of students is through efficient professional development for teachers. Starting in her second year of teaching, she became involved in conducting professional learning workshops for other educators on a wide variety of topics.

Dr. Zaretsky feels that one of the greatest challenges she has faced during her time in the field has been the change in student demographics. "There are certainly more diverse students found within every classroom in every school," she says. "We are learning more about the benefits of inclusion and using strategies such as universal design in learning to support ALL students reaching their potential."

Upon reflecting on a rewarding career, Dr. Zaretsky attributes her success to her desire for lifelong learning, as well as her desire to share with others her wisdom gained from her many varied experiences. She became involved in her profession because of her prior consulting experiences. Dr. Zaretsky received a Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Manitoba and is a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Education. She has remained abreast of trends and developments in her field as President of Learning Forward Manitoba, President of the Manitoba Alliance for Universal Design in Learning (MAUDeL), and her involvement in many other educational associations. In the years to come, Dr. Zaretsky intends to promote a new school-based assessment tool, “Planning Inclusive Cultures in Schools,” in the United States and Canada.
