Ms. Beckmann has 10 years of experience in the tourism industry, with one year as the owner of Cross Country Air Safaris, where she is an expert in the area of organizational management, wildlife research and advocacy. Cross Country Air Safaris is a recreation business that provides tourism services.
She worked in the fields of marketing research and consumer behavior in Germany before making the decision to move to South Africa in 1999, to follow her life's dream of living in the African Bush. She organized and supervised the logistics of Operation Noah's Ark, a first of its kind air-lift of elephants from South Africa/Botswana to Angola in an effort to revitalize the wildlife of Kissama National Park in Angola. She has also worked as a temporary insurance assistant for GCM Gielisch Claims Management, a manager at The Garden Lodge, and an office manager of Bassair Aviation.
She attributes her success to following her passion, and chose this profession after completing her studies in psychology. Upon graduation, she desired to work with wildlife and continued her studies in wildlife management in South Africa. She began to work as an office manager with Brigitte Cross, the former owner of the Cross Country Air Safaris. When Brigitte could no longer maintain the responsibilities of ownership due to illness, she passed the business to Ms. Beckmann, who now has complete ownership. Ms. Beckmann has also completed a comprehensive study of white rhinoceri.
Ms. Beckmann holds a Master of Philosophy in Wildlife Management from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2005.
