Nancy T. Field, MD has been Named a Professional of the Year in Medical Education

DAVIS, CA, December 19, 2014, Dr. Nancy T. Field, Physician and Professor at the the University of California Davis School of Medicine, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Medical Education. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only small selections of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

Dr. Field’s love of the medical profession was deeply influenced by her father, an endocrinologist who specializes in diabetes. Inspired by his example, she pursued an MD from the prestigious Harvard Medical School. She decided to focus on the field of obstetrics so that she would be able to help two people, mother and baby, for every patient that she treats. Dr. Field graduated in 1986, and went on to complete internships and residencies at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women's Hospital, both in Boston, Mass. She then completed a fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center in 1992. Furthermore, Dr. Field is a certified diabetes educator and certified in maternal-fetal medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Field has spent the past two decades as a physician and professor at the University of California Davis School of Medicine. She pulls upon her extensive education and experience to teach residents in the school’s medical program. She also serves on the admissions committee and performs medicolegal casework for the school. Dr. Field remains current in her field through the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American Diabetes Association, and the Society for Gynecologic Investigation. She has been listed among the Best Doctors of America in recognition of her professional excellence. Looking toward the future, Dr. Field aims to develop a more organized diabetes outreach network.
