Roberta S. Locke Recognized for Excellence in Local Government

AZTEC, NEW MEXICO, October 3, 2014, Roberta S. Locke, City Commissioner of City of Aztec, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Branding. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Ms. Locke has 13 years of municipality experience, building expertise in interpersonal skills, communication, leadership and criminal justice. Her duties in her current role of two years are overseeing community leadership, organization of different events, the city budget, street maintenance plans and tenure vision. Previously, she worked as an educational assistant in special education in the Aztec public school district, and has 14 years of experience with adult retention and administration.

In the future, Ms. Locke intends to be the head of a foundation that is dedicated to serving others. She has been successful because of her determination, hard work and a great work ethic. She became involved in her professions because she has always wanted to help people. She was a single mother and has worked her way up in the field. That ascent was aided by an associate degree in psychology and English that she earned from San Juan College (1990).

Recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, Ms. Locke also maintains affiliations as the secretary of the Cedar Hill Cemetery Board of the Church of Christ, and with the Utility Advisory Board City of Aztec and Chapter 53 Order of the Eastern Star. Charitably, she supports Leadership San Juan, Leadership New Mexico, and various breast cancer, Alzheimer’s and domestic violence walks and fundraisers. Her hobbies are helping the community, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, mentoring and ministry.
