Dr. Katz seeks a revolutionary treatment method that could help millions of patients suffering

Orange, CT, October 28, 2015, Amiram Katz, Neurologist and CEO of MedAhead, Inc., has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Neurology. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. Dr. Katz has 40 years of professional experience, with 20 years as the CEO of MedAhead, Inc. Throughout his extensive career, he has set himself apart working in the areas of diving and hyperbaric medicine, seizure disorders and sleep medicine, Lyme disease, multiple sclerosis, as well as Alzheimer’s disease. His daily work sees him providing medical care, consultations, and research and development in these areas, as well as developing and marketing proprietary medical devices and treatments.

Presently, Dr. Katz is seeking an affordable treatment for Alzheimer’s disease, using immunoglobulin that bypass the blood-brain barrier, implementing a proprietary method and device that obviate the necessity for spinal taps and other unpleasant methods of treatment delivery. Currently, the alternative of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) is prohibitively expensive, such that it is insufficient to treat even a small fraction of patients with this condition. At the same time he expects to launch his medical device FlowKeepers^® in 2016, which is intended to save thousands of lives annually by preventing fatal blood clots.

Looking back, Dr. Katz attributes his clinical success to his passion for his work, "thinking out of the box" and ability to treat every patient on an individual basis. Dr. Katz takes pride in focusing on his patients needs, and providing them with the best medical outcome for their illness and conditions. He was drawn to science at an early age. During high school, Dr. Katz was inspired to become involved with people's care. The natural choice was to become a doctor, even though he wished to become a pilot and aeronautic engineer years before. Having grown up in a small village, there were no doctors in his family until he started on his path. Working on a farm with a daily need for improvisation, prepared him to be an inventor in the future.

In the coming years, Dr. Katz intends to continue to provide top-quality medical care to his patients from a practice aspect, and experience continued growth and success from a clinical research aspect with his current clinical trials in Alzheimer's and future research in treating Lyme disease.
